Aims and Objectives

Concept of interfacing, study of the programmable circuits, externals systems control.

Description

PC internal adress decoding.

Parallel interfacing: synchronous, asynchronous parallel (hand shake).

Centronics interfacing (printer).

General information on the programmables circuits. Evolution towards the integrated circuits standard "chip set".

Parallel interface programmable PPI 8255.

Timer 8253/54.

Interface card 8255/8254 control.

Module LCD Interfacing.

Programmable interrupt controller PIC 8259.

Advanced Programmable interrupt controller APIC.

Driver on Ms-Dos.

I/O with windows NT.

 

Examples of handling suggested ( ASM, C):

Writing one printing check procedure to the standard Centronics (8255).

Writing a parallel communication program between two PC (8255).

Writing a software control of a standard converter ADC for acquisition and display of analogical sizes (Data logging).

Creation and management of video image on a screen CRT (oscilloscope) using converters DAC.

LCD module control.
