Thermodynamics and chemical thermodynamics

Aims and Objectives

To complete the formaton in chemical thermodynamics

To compare the different energetics techniques using in the domestic, service and industrial sectors.

Description

Theory :

Second law and the arrow of time, entropy in the realm of chemical reactions, extremum principles, stability theory, stability and fluctuations, non equilibrium thermodynamics, dissipative structures

Applications :

Primary energies :

- no renewable sources (coal, oil, natural gas, uranium)

- renewable sources (biomass, hydraulics, aeolian, geothermal, solar, seas and oceans),

- new techniques (gas turbine with combined cycle, cogeneration, combustion cell, thermonuclear fusion).

- Study, calculation and design of industrial installations : Boilers. Heat pumps. Aeolian.

- Environmental aspect : Treatment of smokes. Heat insulation.
