Basic concepts of general chemistry, general and chemical thermodynamics, electrochemistry and all the specific primary products of the training of engineer.

Aims and Objectives

Theory: This course studies in a detailed way the processes of modern industry in the principal fields of chemical industry, especially mineral. At the beginning of the raw materials available, and in a constant worry of maximum use, the processes are studied from the theoretical point of view then analyzed from the technological realization point of view by considering all the points of view of (equipment, productivity, profitability, by-products, automation, problems of rejections, problems environmental…)

Practical work: choice of handling in connection with the concepts seen with the theoretical courses.

Description

Theory: Introduction (general design of an installation, assessments, catalyses, material problems, residues and choice of a method, problems of pollution,…) ; Problem of water (of food and waste); Chemistry of silica and the silicates (glass, crystal, enamels, refractory or not, neoceramic ceramics, bonding agents); Chemical big industry (sulphur and derived, hydrogen, air and gases rare, ammonia, acid nitric, phosphorus and derived, sodium carbonate, chlorinate, mineral soda and derived, manures, pigments); Coal-chemical industry (proceeded of surface, underground gasification, treatments of the various products and rejections); Refining of oil; Petrochemistry

Practical work: Analyze bonding agents; Analyze water and effluent industrialists; Analyze industrial gases; Study of derived from oil; Study of the surface-active ones; Study of the physical material characteristics (true densities and connect, specific surface, porosity)
