Aims and Objectives

Basic concepts of electromagnetism. Principle of operation, problem of starting, speed regulation, electric braking and principal characteristics of the continuous engines. Calculation of the circuits in alternate three-phase current by vectorial and complex representations. Principle of operation, problem of starting, speed regulation, electric braking and principal characteristics of the three-phase and single-phase currents asynchronous motors and three-phase synchronous motor.

Description

Theory (30h): Elements of electromagnetism. Tranformator.Engines with D.C. principle, description, rule of the 4 variables, study of starting, study of the speed regulation, study of electric braking characteristics couple/speed of the engines shunt, series and compound, losses and output. Three-phase current: star coupled and triangle receiver, receiving unbalanced three-phase, powers in three-phase current (calculation and measurement), exercises through complex and vectorial representation. The three-phase asynchronous motor: wound rotor and cage engine, assessment of the losses, study of the characteristic couple/speed, processes of starting, processes of speed regulation (traditional processes and variator of frequency), electric braking. The motor single-phase current asynchronous. The synchronous motor: description, principle, starting by auxiliary engine, asynchronous starting, starting with variator of frequency, characteristic curves.

Experimentation (15h): Measurement of the characteristics of the engine series. Measurement of the characteristic of the engine shunt. Measurement of the characteristics of the engine compound. Calculations and measurements of unbalanced and balanced three-phase current receiver star and triangle coupled (measurements of active and reactive power). Measurement of the characteristics of asynchronous three-phase current motor

Starting synchronous motor with auxiliary engine (paralleling the alternator on the network).

Statement of the curves of Mordey of the synchronous motor.
