Knowledge of file organizations and access methods

Capacity to choose an appropriate method in real situation

Knowledge of relational database system principles and entity relationship model

Master the relational algebra principles

Knowledge of SQL (DML only)

Definition of file, structure (record), field, fixed and variable record format

View of the data: logical versus physical view

File organization: physical sequential, physical linked sequential, full indexed, indexed sequential, ISAM, direct (hash coding)

Introduction to relational databases

Introduction to MySQL

Project management and development plan, abstraction models of data systems

The entity-relationship model

The relational diagram

Data Base integrities

Relational algebra(basic and additional operations)
