Number of Hours (h/year) | 30 |
Teaching staff | DONNAY, Benoit; KECHAOU, Adnen |
Course Unit | Compulsory |
Term | Quad. 1 |
Code | TECH-IELM0009/1 |
Prerequisite | Metal Forming (15 h): The student has to know the following subjects : - Properties of materials - Physics (of solids) - Strength of materials (basic) - Metallurgy (basic)
Plastic materials(15 h) :
- Study of materials (basic). |
---|---|
Aims and Objectives | Metal Forming : The goal is to give technological information about metal processing, necessary to correctly design a mechanical part. Going round factories will complete the education. Plastic materials : Study of the properties of the polymers, their forming processes (extrusion and injection molding) and their assembly. |
Description | Metal forming : Generalities - Casting processes - Powder metallurgy - Bulk deformation - Deformation of a bar through stationary dies - Sheet forming processes - Deep drawing - Shearing - Bending. Plastic materials : - Properties of the polymers, implementation. - Extrusion and injection molding - Assembly : welding, collage, screwing, cliquetage. |
