Course UnitCompulsory
TermQuad. 1 and 2
CodeTECH-IELE0004/1
Prerequisite

All basic notions of automation studied in the course of previous year.

Aims and Objectives

Theory: Following the course given in previous year, this part essentially becomes attached to the survey of sampled systems and to the computerised control. It approaches also different modern methods of control.

Applications: To apply techniques seen in the theoretical course.

Description

Theory: "On/Off" control ; Notions on signals in discreet time applied to the systems dynamic; The sampled dynamic systems: definitions, classification,; Tools of analysis and calculation based on z transform; Transfer functions of sampled systems; Computerised control: Digitalisation of the analogical methods (recurrence methods) - Synthesis in the root locus - direct calculation of numeric correctors algorithms from discreet transfer functions.

Applications: To improve laboratory models of industrial process while placing them under the new angle of the digital control. The course starts by the presentation of calculation, identification, and simulation software’s and continues by the complete analysis of a digital control system (SCADA). The experimentation begins then while applying the cycle: identification of the process, calculation and programming of a corrector, tests with numeric acquisistion of performances and analysis of these. Exercises of synthesis come to complete the formation.
