Aims and Objectives

To understand:categorization problematics, etio-pathogenic mechanisms responsible for the disorders and mental diseases, psychopathological episodes and related treatments

Description
  • General points. Definition of the mental disease· Problems arising from the description of psychosis: borders between the normality and the pathology, madness single or plural
  • Categorial aspect of psychiatry: interest and limits, various criteria of categorization, different classification: Freud, DSM IV
  • dimensional aspect of psychiatry:the psychosocial and environmental dimension,the psychological dimension (emotional and cognitive),the neurobiologic and organic dimension
  • etio-pathogenic factors: study methods,the interest of epidemiology, concept of vulnerability factor and protection factors (biological, psychological and social), biological, psychological, social factors:
  • Psychiatric private clinic
  • Descriptive and phenomenologic aspect of the various psychopathological episodes such as mental confusion, autism, psychosis disorders, anxiety, depression and mood disorders, alcoholic behaviors, toxicomany, aggressive episodes
  • personality disorders and related problems for nurses: in and out of hospitals.
