General smattering of analytical, general and organic chemistry, and of biochemistry.

Aims and Objectives

To know the principal solvents used in professional or household surrouding.

To understand its toxicity and to identify the signs of that toxicity.

To understand the determinations of solvents and their metabolites assays.

Description

Solvents toxicity : poisons penetration in the organism ; physico-chemical properties of solvents ; toxicity signs and symbols ; organic solvents ( alcohols, glycols, ketones, ethers, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons ).

Methods : blood assays of solvents and urinary assays of metabolites.
