Aims and Objectives

You have to be conscious of the importance of respecting hygiene and security rules in laboratory.

You have to learn attitudes and appropriate behaviours to prevent any risk.

 

Description

Notions of hygiene : definitions; epidemiology; intestinal flora; commensal germs; pathogenic germs; resistance; modes of transmission; prevention methods.

Antisepsis and disinfection: definitions; general principles; the major families of antiseptics and of disinfectants; major applications.

Prevention of  the cross-transmission of infections: precautions, hands hygiene, use of gloves.

RGPT - code of wellness at work - 1996's royal order.

Security symbols (pictograms) used at work

Chemical risks: risks related to the physical, chemical and toxic properties of products; the prevention of chemical risks; the labelling of chemical products; the storage of chemical products; the risks of ethidium bromide, acrylamide and liquid nitrogen; the types of fire extinguisher.
