Course UnitCompulsory
TermQuad. 1 and 2
CodeTECH-MECM0022/1
Prerequisite

Vectors and vector representation – Operations on vectors – Resolution of right-angled triangles – Solving quadratic equations and equation systems.

Aims and Objectives

The student must be able to solve simple problems about static (2, 3 or 4 forces, with or without friction), dynamics or kinematics and to apply the results in engineering and design department.

Description

Static: Force – Force momentum – Vector and analytic sum of forces – Forces equilibrium – Adhesion and friction - Rumbling – Force effects superposition

Dynamics: Basic principle - Inertia – Power and work – Wind resistance - …

Kinematics: Linear uniform movement – Movement with constant acceleration – Circular uniform movement – Cams – Instant circular center.
