Aims and Objectives | To bring a basic knowledge of the Principles of Thermodynamics in connection with Engineering |
Description | Thermodynamics principles - Partial derivatives and associated relations - Thermodynamic properties of substances - Constant volume, isobaric, isothermal, isentropic and polytropic processes. Steady flow processes - Thermodynamics of high-speed gas flow. Gas power cycles: reciprocating engines and gas-turbines engines. Vapour and combined power cycles - Refrigeration cycles - Air-conditioning processes : properties and charts. Problems. |
