Aims and Objectives

Understanding the importance of group life and of associated therapeutical value.

Acquiring the principles of group dynamics.

Acquiring a methodology applicable to institutional therapies and group activities with a therapeutic aim.

Differentiating group dynamics from personal dynamics

Description

Group dynamics and group therapy history.

Concept and field of application of group activities, specifically in psychiatry.

Therapeutical values of group activities.

From birth of group to maturity.

Group members :

· role of the animator in meetings, decision taking process in groups.

· Leadership. Roles and attitudes in restricted groups.

· Role of the co-animator.

· Role of the observer : production, facilitation and regulation tasks.

Therapeutic activities :

· Motivation

· Institutional activities

· Socialisation

· Social re-integration

· Health education

Methodology applicable to meetings chairing and moderating.

Exercises applicable to various existing institutional situations.
