Prerequisite

Basic notions in general and cellular biology, biochemistry, anatomy-physiology, histology, immunology and genetics.

Aims and Objectives

To know general notions in parasitology: morphology and biology of protozoal, animal and fungal parasites; main parasitic diseases in human beings and laboratory methods to diagnose these diseases.

Description

Helminthology

  • Theoretical introduction to the biology of helminths and to associated pathology
  • Examination of macroscopic and microscopic preparations.

Entomology

  • Theoretical introduction to the biology of insects and mites and to associated pathology
  • Examination of macroscopic and microscopic preparations.

Protozoology

  • Theoretical introduction to the biology of protozoans and to associated pathology
  • Examination of macroscopic and microscopic preparations.

Mycology

  • Theoretical introduction to the biology of fungi and to associated pathology
  • Examination of macroscopic and microscopic preparations
