Aims and Objectives | Enable future special librarians to read and fairly understand texts in chemistry. The aim is to be able to find appropriate popular scientific literature to meet the needs of average users of public libraries or secondary school libraries |
Description | General approach to chemistry with highlights on links with other fields of knowledge. A historical point of view, starting with Lavoisier and working through 19th century chemists, in order to introduce basic notions. Major information sources in chemistry, ranging from the large treatises of the 19th century to "Chemical Abstracts" are given. |
