Aims and Objectives

To give a better understanding of the inner working of information systems and particularly of document management systems by examining some linguistic features related to the storage and retrieval of textual information

Description

Real world and modelization, information systems, semantic networks. Automatic indexing of databases and full texts, inverted files. Boolean search and proximity search, precoordination and postcoordination. Information extraction. Introduction to computational linguistics. Introduction to knowledge visualization.
